Perez Special Ed Center Dedicates Yearbook to Drivers

Perez Special Education Center has dedicated their 2009-10 yearbook to Area Bus Supervisor Ruben Suarez, Assistant Area Bus Supervisor Jose Garcia, and the dedicated bus drivers who transport the school's students with enduring patience and professionalism each day.  Click here to read the about the special honor that has been given to our staff.

Fleet Maintenance Safety Awards

The Fleet Maintenance Section held its second annual Safety Awards Ceremony in December 2009, where 145 garage personnel were recognized for taking an active interest in working safely during the fiscal year 2008/09.

LAUSD Transportation Services Division in the News

The LAUSD Transportation Services Division is featured in the April 2009 edition of the SCHOOL BUS FLEET magazine, a trade publication serving more than 24,000 school transportation professionals in the United States and Canada.  The article provides a historical glimpse of the Division and the initiatives being implemented to improve services for LAUSD students: improved safety through a comprehensive bus replacement program; cleaner air with the use of alternative fuels; and better communication with aggressive outreach efforts.

LAUSD Participates in School Bus Safety Roadeo

The LAUSD Roadeo Team competed in the annual California School Bus Safety Roadeo, which took place on April 25, 2009 (Southern Sectional) and May 24, 2009 (State). The California School Bus Safety Roadeo is an event that gives school bus drivers from across the State the opportunity to compete against each other using their driving skills and knowledge of applicable driving laws. The event was administered by the California Department of Education Office of School Transportation and the California Association of School Transportation Officials (CASTO). The CASTO Roadeo committee was coordinated by our very own Janet Hutchison of CRC.
